This a beautiful story of love, lies, betrayal and the pain of society's misconceptions
It concerns a young lad Will Avery..Who hides a dark and uncomfortable secret...despite this he falls in love with Zara an Irish Gypsy who's desperate to escape her chaotic life..their fight to be recognised as human beings with rights and a need to be free is at the heart of this story.
............................................................
The book is filled with characters who will either creep under your skin, or annoy you to hell,...1 that stood out for me is Rocko a big lad who has a type of Autism though this is never mentioned in the story, there are clues and reasons for his bizarre behaviour....This book moved me in so many ways but mostly because of the way society views travelling people, their struggle to maintain their way of life amid predjudice and hatred really had me rooting for them...sometimes out loud..smile
............................................................
Also the struggle of the group in sheltered housing who either arent aware of their disability, or are in Rocko's case, hiding from it in art while trying to make sense of a world he dosent fully understand really made me want to see him succeed.
I loved this story and if you ever come across it don't hesitate!
Cheers
Alex.
